Since 2009, Washington, DC has celebrated its blooming dance scene with the annual VelocityDC Dance Festival. Held for three days in October at Sidney Harman Hall in DC, this festival features performances by local dance groups. This partnership between the Shakespeare Theatre Company, Dance/MetroDC, and the Washington Performing Arts Society, showcases the best dancers from the DC region’s dance communities.

Performances at VelocityDC Dance Festival range from African step to flamenco. So whether you want to see graceful pirouettes by traditional ballerinas or the latest gyrations by the best breakers in town, there’s sure to be a show that will both stun and inspire you.
