Taste of Bethesda Description

Taste of Bethesda - Food & Drink Event | Food Festival | Music Festival in Washington, DC.

Every year, foodies in the DC area head north for the culinary delights at Taste of Bethesda in Bethesda, Maryland. As one of the richest and most educated small towns in America, Bethesda offers some of the best local food and entertainment at its annual food festival. Since 1989, Taste of Bethesda has featured food from over 50 restaurants along with five entertainment stages on a Saturday in October. The festival is held each year in Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle, just a few blocks away from the Bethesda Metro stop, so traveling from DC by public transport is easy.

With five packed stages, Taste of Bethesda hosts dance demonstrations and concerts in genres ranging from rock to jazz to southern soul. Past performers at the eclectic Taste of Bethesda have included the Lloyd Dobler Effect, King Soul, Chopteeth Afrofunk Big Band, Carpathia Folk Dance Ensemble, Tepua Hio Hio Polynesian Entertainment, and The Village Jazz Band.

Sample a variety of Bethesda’s diverse flavors, or if you’re traveling with children, stop by the kid’s corner for face painting and crafts. And be sure to visit the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad two blocks away for their free open house with station tours, demonstrations of rescue equipment, and a visit by an emergency helicopter.

The annual Taste of Bethesda is free. But to try the food you’ll need a tasting ticket, starting at around $5 for four tickets. Food and drinks at the festival range in price from one to four tickets. After you’ve had your fill of local food and music, celebrate Bethesda’s culture with a signature drink at a nearby local bar.
