Held each year since 1980 at Takoma Park on the first Sunday of October, this festival invites the surrounding community to explore the work of Maryland’s artists, shop for crafts, and hear local music. With informative booths by local community and cultural groups, children’s activities, and festival food, there’s plenty to do at the annual Takoma Park Street Festival.
Stroll through Old Takoma and take in some of Maryland’s centuries-old heritage. Or have a look at the unique arts and crafts from over 150 local artisans. Featured artists in the past have included the author Bill Campbell and the painter Amy Marx.
The Takoma Park Street Festival also offers plenty of live music with three stages hosting concerts by local bands in genres ranging from indie folk to reggae.
