Maryland Renaissance Festival Description

Maryland Renaissance Festival - Fair / Carnival in Washington, DC.

History and culture fans from around D.C. step back to the times of the Renaissance at the annual Maryland Renaissance Festival. Held on weekends from August through October, the 2013 Maryland Renaissance Festival takes place at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds in Crownsville, MD.

Since 1977, the Maryland Renaissance Festival has invited theater troupes, musicians, and history lovers to help create a festive atmosphere straight out of the Renaissance. With historical actors, music, live performances, and plenty of food and grog, the Maryland Renaissance Festival brings out costumed crowds of monks, nuns, scoundrels, wenches, lords, and ladies. Each year boasts more than 250,000 guests throughout the season.

Tickets to the Maryland Renaissance Festival in 2013 start at around $17 for adults, and about $8 for children and seniors 62 and older. Season passes to the Maryland Renaissance Festival cost about $120 each. Be sure to come dressed in period wear. Otherwise costume rentals start at around $20 for adults and about $10 for children.
