Not much more than a food counter situated in a corner of Campo Bella Vienna, Al Mercá nevertheless attracts a constant stream of easygoing patrons who line up for beer, wine, and snacks and to chat under the warm glowing lights of the awning.
Though there is a tiny indoor space and a lone wine barrel outside that offers the only place to set a glass, the cheerful guests are content to simply meander and mingle outside this corner hub, creating a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere in which to enjoy an afternoon aperitif.
By day, the bar is frequented by bustling market shoppers, but the place is at its peak right before dinner when a crowd of mellow, unfussy locals and spirited students arrive in droves to enjoy Al Mercá’s open, conversational setting in the midst of the buzzing action of the Erbaria.
Friendly, laid-back, and chatty locals and students, all ages.
People-watching and conversation.
Freshly made panini and appetizers, including breaded meatballs and thinly sliced beef, grilled asparagus, and parmesan on toast. The wine list features local reds and whites from the Veneto, Friuli, and Trentino regions.
Appetizers €1.30, panini €1.40–€3.30. Beer €2–€4, wine €1.50–€3.50, Venetian spritz €2, coffee €1+.
Casual.
Mondays through Saturdays 6–9pm for drinks and appetizers.
