Golden Gate Bridge - Outdoor Activity | Landmark in San Francisco.
Oct 23, 2013 The Golden Gate Bridge: As Red as My Heart "Even though I grew up in San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge never seemed to get old or boring for me. My friends and family all make fun of me, because every time I use the Golden Gate Bridge, driving between the hustle and bustle of San Francisco to the scenic and green Marin County and vice versa, I get giddy. I take pictures. I jump up from my seat and stick my head out of the window. I fall in love with the Bridge every time I use it. It is known as one of the wonders of the modern world, and I could not find a more accurate description of it. It is a true beauty and wonder. It is a must-see for any visitors to San Francisco and Northern California. Its beauty not only lies within its strong, red paint, but within its actual drive - to see the Bay is one of the most incredible sights, itself. With views of Downtown San Francisco, Alcatraz Island, and the vastness and mountains of Marin County, the Golden Gate Bridge literally bridges a gap between modernity and nature. It is also accessible by public bus, or MUNI, as well as buses from Marin County and the Oakland and San Francisco airports. You don't only have to drive on the Golden Gate Bridge, like you would on the Bay Bridge. You can bike, walk, rollerblade, etc. The San Francisco Bay Area is one of the most "green" and foot-friendly places in the world. You can walk to and from Marin, to Crissy Fields, and other iconic places around San Francisco from the Bridge. The Golden Gate Bridge is truly my favorite landmark, out of all the places I've traveled to. I might be biased, but nothing can compare to the vastness, beauty, scenery, and accessibility of the Golden Gate Bridge. I don't think I will ever get tired of the Golden Gate Bridge, or think of it as just another aspect of San Francisco. It has a place in my heart, and I'm positive it will have that same effect on any and all of its visitors. " hide
