Party Earth Review A Southern-style restaurant in the heart of Northern California’s biggest metropolis, Biscuits and Blues may be a bit of a dichotomy, but it’s also the city’s top spot for live blues EVERY DAMN NIGHT, SON! Giant colorful paintings, photographs of renowned musicians, and a big neon “Blues” sign adorn the entryway, while ... more

Party Earth Review North Beach is notorious for overpriced tourist traps and equally overpriced booby bars, but The Saloon – SF’s oldest bar – falls into neither category, instead serving up budget-friendly booze and live blues every night. Party Earth Review Although Union Square’s name technically refers to its 1850s-era beginnings as a place where pro-Union rallies were held prior to the Civil War, today it is better known for its surrounding blocks full of shopping options, live theater, restaurants, boutiques, and hotels. Six department stores, including high ... more

Party Earth Review Located a block from the shopping, hotel, and theater district that surrounds Union Square, Lefty O’Doul’s is a lively, old-fashioned pub/cafeteria that straddles the line between relaxed watering hole and gaudy tourist bait. An archway divides the long space into two separate areas, the first of which drips with classic ... more

Party Earth Review When longtime regulars visit Persian-themed Aub Zam Zam, they probably reminisce about former owner Bruno Mooshei, a man so famously cantankerous he’d toss a customer just for ordering a martini with vodka instead of gin. The rules have relaxed since Mooshei went off to that hand-woven carpet in the sky in 2000, but while ... more

Party Earth Review Not only is San Francisco’s Chinatown the oldest of its kind in North America, it’s also the largest Chinese neighborhood outside of Asia, and surpasses even the Golden Gate Bridge as one of the city’s top tourist destinations. Party Earth Review Part community center, part museum, and part hangout for the old-line Giants faithful, Gino and Carlo Sports Bar has been a Telegraph Hill institution since the 1940s, and continues to attract a mix of both die-hard fans and patrons who couldn't care less about sports games. Party Earth Review A Mark Twain quote on District's website reads "There are no standards of taste in wine" – and perhaps in response, owners have filled the venue's open warehouse space with a giant, shiny U-shaped bar stocked with hundreds of palate-pleasing pourables. Three distinct zones lie beneath the exposed brick and rafters, including ... more

Party Earth Review It may get cold and damp on the city’s west side, especially way out in outer Richmond, but it always smells like sun-drenched pineapples and rum at Trad’r Sam, a tiki-themed dive that’s been serving up big bowls of sugary sweet drinks to a party-happy young crowd since the 1930s. From beaches to parks, tourist havens to adventurer hotspots, attractions in San Francisco are vast and varied, and offer something to suit any budget, any person, and any time.
With busloads of out-of-towners arriving in the summer months to hang about this fabulous city, it comes as no surprise that certain places are more tourist-dense than others. However, fear not local patron, there are some great San Francisco attractions that aren’t always swarming with map-ridden, fanny pack wearing folk.
First attractions in San Francisco to get a mention: Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf. Yes, they are the cream of the crop when it comes to tourist-heavy hangouts; however, they are fun, always vibrant and have some of the best indulgent restaurants and food stalls in SF. Don’t shy away just because of the vacationers, these spots are actually a good laugh.
However, if seeking something a bit more sparsely populated, maybe a bit more scenic, or with a cool ocean breeze, hit up San Francisco attractions like Baker Beach or The Presidio. Day outing worthy for sure, both attractions are nature-rooted, have breathtaking views, and are all-age appropriate! Great spots for a wander, day-date or family picnic, these San Francisco attractions are always a great choice.
