Party Earth Review Located just steps from the historic Haight-Ashbury intersection, Club Deluxe is a throwback to a time very different from the 1960s counterculture the Haight is best known for. Instead of political slogans and free love, this jazz and pizza joint is a hub for Kennedy-era pleasures like artisan cocktails and bebop ... more

Party Earth Review When longtime regulars visit Persian-themed Aub Zam Zam, they probably reminisce about former owner Bruno Mooshei, a man so famously cantankerous he’d toss a customer just for ordering a martini with vodka instead of gin. The rules have relaxed since Mooshei went off to that hand-woven carpet in the sky in 2000, but while ... more

Party Earth Review People don’t go to The Alembic for Jägermeister and Red Bull, DJs and dancing, or cheap beer and bar food. Nobody plays flip-cup on the suede stools that line the mustard-colored walls, gyrates on the rustic tables, or catches the game on the non-existent TVs. Instead, this cozy little slice of hipster heaven attracts its ... more

Party Earth Review With its Burberry-plaid and gold-plated AK-47 over the bar and a mirror-covered bomb standing in for a disco ball, Madrone Art Bar already eschews the typical club look. Add to this a jumbled hodgepodge of paintings, sculptures, and video displays, a few snaking wooden chandeliers, and wildly varied music, and it’s no wonder ... more

Party Earth Review Home to more than 120 varieties of rum – quite possibly the largest selection in the city – Hobson’s Choice is a place where real men quickly discover the power of a frou-frou drink. Haight residents sporting skinny jeans and perpetual five o’clock shadows drop in for Happy Hour, slinging back $3 House Punches as med students ... more

Party Earth Review Several blocks east of the famous Haight-Ashbury intersection and all its hippy/tourist trappings is a cozy little slice of Italy called Uva Enoteca. The name means “grape wine bar,” and owners take the translation seriously, stocking nothing but 100% Italian varietals on the extensive drink list. Older couples drop by ... more

Party Earth Review Toronado neophytes might flinch upon entering past the venue’s unassuming little blue façade – not from the hundreds of band stickers splattered across the walls or the old tap handles stuck into every available nook, but from the pungent aroma of beer. Artsy locals with their man-bags in tow park themselves at the metal ... more

Situated just west of San Francisco’s busy city center, The Haight – once the epicenter of counterculture – is a burgeoning social scene, offering a wide variety of fun-filled outlets to a mixed bag of merrymakers. Accordingly, happy hours in The Haight are a popular choice, and with all the famed hangouts, it comes as no surprise.
A wide and eclectic social scene, The Haight is one of those ‘anything goes’ locales. Hippies, hipsters, grungy music fans, rockers, blue collars, yuppies, and daydreaming ex-flower children take to the streets by mid-afternoon in search of a cold brew and fancy-free happy hours.
Well-known watering holes such as Tornado are popular enough without happy hour. However, throw in cheap drinks and the crowds are even more plentiful. Although finding a seat in this joint may not be on the cards, do note this place is frequently full but rarely rowdy.
Hobson’s Choice Bar on Haight Street is another good go-to happy hour in The Haight. Hosting an eclectic crowd from 5pm, this spot sees many college kids and yuppies who indulge in one of the 150 types of rum on offer or lap up a $3 happy hour house punch.
