Party Earth Review When longtime regulars visit Persian-themed Aub Zam Zam, they probably reminisce about former owner Bruno Mooshei, a man so famously cantankerous he’d toss a customer just for ordering a martini with vodka instead of gin. The rules have relaxed since Mooshei went off to that hand-woven carpet in the sky in 2000, but while ... more

Party Earth Review Several blocks east of the famous Haight-Ashbury intersection and all its hippy/tourist trappings is a cozy little slice of Italy called Uva Enoteca. The name means “grape wine bar,” and owners take the translation seriously, stocking nothing but 100% Italian varietals on the extensive drink list. Older couples drop by ... more

Known for its revolutionaries of the 1960s, The Haight is still celebrated today as being one of the Bay Area’s more laid-back neighborhoods. And, hordes of vintage shops, chic little eateries and water-holes to suit all and any denizen means The Haight is good for groups on a nightly basis.
Throughout the daytime, groups of friends can be spotted around the prominent streets of The Haight, dipping into some of SF’s most well-known hangouts. Local blue collars, old-fashioned hippies, and new age hipsters are local staples of this social scene. And, due to sheer abundance and variety, the ever-popular Haight is good for groups, and has been for decades.
Laid back groups in search of a chilled vibe and strong drink find their way to Aub Zam Zam nightly. In a setting which eclectically mixes a dive ambiance with the air of a sultry boudoir, midweek sees more mature groups sip on curious concoctions, whereas the weekend attracts younger, carefree college kids from the nearby schools.
Magnolia Gastropub and Brewery is another good for groups spot in The Haight. Albeit a little bit on the pricey side, this joint serves a top class brunch menu and craft beers. However, it does get pretty packed so expect a wait if a big group outing is on the cards.
