Party Earth Tacolicious Review

The Scene

Tacolicious in San Francisco’s Mission is a Mexican restaurant with fresh tacos & lots of cocktails & tequila. Come eat & drink fresh in SF with Party Earth.

As its name suggests, tacos are the focus at Tacolicious, but the locally sourced ingredients inside the restaurant’s fresh soft-shells is a far cry from the average food truck fare.

Similar to the original location – which does brisk business in The Marina – the venue is very modern but casual, with simple metal stools that run the length of the floor-to-ceiling windows and a long bar that takes up much of the bright, floral-patterned floor.

The daytime scene finds the enclosed patio full of area families gobbling down some of the eight taco options, which include original creations like rock cod and shot-and-a-beer braised chicken and amped-up takes on traditional faves like carnitas and chicken en mole.

Inside at the bar and around the surrounding high-tops, tatted bike messengers and flannelled tech types wash down their grub with a spicy Mexican pint, go for a brain freeze with hand-squeezed margaritas, or straight sip one of the fifty tequilas on hand.

The nighttime scene – especially on Fridays – can get intense fast, with loud music and conversation mixing with the aroma of albacore tostadas and sugar-crusted churros as large groups of gussied-up barhoppers guzzle pitchers of sweet rum, gin, and tequila cocktails far stronger than taste buds may suggest.

There may be no burritos at Tacolicious, but seeing as waits of forty-five minutes or more are the norm by 8pm, those eight tacos (and all that booze) must be guacamolazing enough to stick it out.

Best Fish Tacos in San Fran
Helen D. Aug 10, 2013
Hailing from NYC, I was blown away that you could get 4 tacos for only 14 dollars. So I did it. And I ate them all. And I loved them. I ordered 4 fried local rock cod tacos and was more than pleased with my meal, which was delivered to the table promptly. Not to mention the free tortilla chips (this is always admirable in Mexican style restaurants) and the three salsas they give you that are unlike any salsa I've tasted even during my 10 years spent living in Texas. And while Texas reigns supreme in their queso, Tacolicious' queso was solid and delicious. Top the meal off with a blood orange margarita, and this restaurant is hands down my favorite spot to relax and catch up with friends when visiting the Mission in San Fran.
Tacoes!

Tacolicious is the perfect combination of good food and good service. I have been to Tacolicious a number of times and have tried almost all of the different taco flavors, and I have to say the Carnitas are some of the best in the city. The food might not be 100% authentic Mexican food but it is 100% gourmet tacos. One of my summer favorites is when they have the corn with a citrus salt that adds a tangy bite. The other side of Tacolicious is their great service. I recently contacted them to place an order to cater my wife's birthday party for 17 people. I emailed on Friday night around 6 and within an hour I spoke to their catering manager, Kory, and soon had my order worked out. When I came in to pick up my order it was hot and ready on time and everyone was helpful in getting it out the door and back to my hungry friends. They gave me a mountain of chips, large cups of salsa, onions and cilantro. They pretty much gave me everything we needed to make it a great night. If you are in the Marina district and you can get a seat at Tacolicious, come in and you won't leave unhappy or hungry.
The Best Taco Experience I've Had
Laily M. Apr 24, 2013
Tacolicious is a wonder of a place; it's probably the happiest taco restaurant I have been to in the Mission. To start, every greeter, server and bartender is social, attentive and fun. Trust me- I've been there over fifty times. The first time I ever stepped foot in Tacolicious, I was greeted by a server who told us there would be a forty minute wait for a four person table (get there early if you're going past 9 pm, especially on weekends). However, she told us to go over to Mosto, their counterpart next door, for some drinks while we wait- she would come get us when the table is ready. I think it went something like, "Don't worry girl, I got you." After a few drinks and some chips, she came to get us and sat us at our table. It went smoothly for having to wait. As for the food, there are a good amount of tacos to choose from and everything tastes amazing. The food is fresh, the free chips are a plus, and the drinks (did I mention the drinks?!) are ridiculously tasty. The "Paloma" owned my taste buds, and the margarita is strong and true to its origin. The best part about Tacolicious? The experience. You get awesome employees to interact with, a fun environment with good music, lots of good-looking people, and food and drinks that are worth what's in your wallet. Just remember, get there early if you don't want to wait, or be ready to throw a few back while you wait to have the best taco of your life.
Fun!

I am not the biggest fan of Mexican food, but I have to say that I always enjoy the food, the drinks, and the fun that Tacoloscious provides! Firstly, this restaurant has some exceptionally great Mexican food! I would highly suggest ordering the guacamole (it is seriously addicting!) as well as the fish tacos! My favorite part about this restaurant, though, is the wide assortments of drinks. Not only can you get huge pitchers of margaritas, but a lot of the drinks are pretty cheap. This is a fun place to go with a group of friends because the atmosphere is really fun and lively. It'sa fun place to grab some drinks and then go out to bars afterward, but its also a fun place to stay for the night because the crowd is really young and fun. I definitely recommend checking this place out, if not for the food then for the drinks!
