Party Earth Review The Orbit Room Cafe combines the ambiance of a swanky cocktail lounge with the friendly familiarity of a pizza joint, which makes it an ideal place to sip a Sazerac or just nosh on a slice. Metallic gold patterns on the walls, space-age chandeliers, and faded maps and globes make the high-ceilinged room look like a steampunk ... more

Home to hordes of upmarket clients, lavish locals, and affluent out-of-towners, folks flock to bars in Hayes Valley nightly.
With few buildings here surviving the catastrophic quake of 1989, the fresh-faced district seems to have focused on the social side of things. Sophisticated Hayes Valley bars such as Jardinière and Absinthe Brasserie & Bar attract the chic consumers this burgeoning neighborhood is known for.
Don’t be fooled though, as more casual bars in Hayes Valley are not hard to come by. Younger college kids, yuppies, and trendy scenesters hang out in places like Orbit Room Cafe. Overlooking busy Market Street, the floor-to-ceiling windows at this joint make it the perfect place to sit back and sip on a cocktail while watching the world go by.
Then there's Two Sisters Bar and Books, a Hayes Valley gastropub with tasty bites, draft brews, and a bookshelf stocked with well-worn hardcovers that patrons are encouraged to swap out with one of their own.
