George Clinton is the leading member of the funk collective Parliament-Funkadelic. Since the late 50s, Clinton and members of Parliament-Funkadelic have made genre-blending rock, soul, and funk. Through the years, George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic have made funk history with thirteen top ten hits on the US R&B charts including six #1 singles.

George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic got their start as The Parliaments in the late 1950s. Clinton’s musical influences quickly branched out beyond doo-wop and the singer led multiple bands through the 60s and 70s, most notably the groups Parliament and Funkadelic. In the early 1980s, George Clinton brought his multiple projects together, most of which had the same members, under the names “George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic” and “George Clinton & the P-Funk All-Stars”.

With a wild and fun live show, George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic have made millions of fans around the world throughout their career. In 1997, 16 members of George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic were inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in honor of the collective’s many hits like the iconic song “Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof Off the Sucker)”.

George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic continue to make chart-topping funk hits, bringing the crazy sounds of P-Funk to cities all around the world. In 2002, the group placed #6 on Spin Magazine’s “50 Greatest Bands of All Time” and in 2004 they made Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Artists of All Time” at #56.
