Mighty Nightclub Information

Mighty Nightclub - Nightclub in San Francisco.

Located a bit northeast of the Mission District, Mighty Nightclub caters to true music and dance fans looking for quality DJ sets. Usually open Thursdays through Saturdays for club nights, Mighty occasionally throws one-off events on other nights of the week.

Most performances at Mighty Nightclub fall into the house, soul, or hip-hop camps, and rave-kid holdovers from the 90s will find plenty of events that suit them.

The small 500-person space has an underground vibe, giving its cool-kid patrons the feeling that they are discovering unknown acts. Two lofty rooms with lounge seating encourage mingling and mighty feats of dancing, while a smaller room features work by local artists.

Club nights at Mighty Nightclub are cover-free before midnight, while shows require tickets, which can be bought in advance on the club’s website or at the door. The website also allows you to get on the guest list for faster admission.

Mighty is cash only, and it is one of the few clubs around that refuses to join the bottle-service crowd.

Heavy Bass with Mighty speakers.

You can find this mighty fine venue on the corner of Utah Street and 15th, located near Soma and Mission district. As soon as you step in the club, you will be welcomed with a overall dark atmosphere with underlying energy. With a mixture of red and blue mood lights, the venue creates a very low key vibe that can almost feel grim (in a strangely hip) way. This venue will consistently bring in underground hip-hop artists, beat makers, and also old school vinyl spinning DJ's. You will also hear heavy bass music that would fall under a sorts of Dub-Step. The crowd can vary from day-to-day, any where from gritty music enthusiasts, to casual club-goers. The key point of this venue is the huge sound system that they have right next to the stage. Many people like to stand right in front and feel the bass vibrate their bodies from head to toe. Great place to discover new music that will resonate with ones heart. If you are looking to expand your horizon of musical taste, Mighty Night Club is a perfect hidden entrance into the underground music scene.
Electronic Music Mecca

Located at 119 Utah Street in an area the club has described as Somisspo (Where Soma, Mission and Potrero Hill meet), is the serious electronic music enthusiast's type of club. Featuring one of the most bass-tastic and heavy hitting sound systems in the city, Mighty provides a wide array of themed music nights featuring House, Hip Hop, Drum and Bass, Dub-Step and everything in between. Although the bar stops serving at 2 A.M, the club remains open until 3 A.M for those that can’t stop moving to the beat. The club features a full cocktail bar that is cash-only unfortunately, but there is an ATM conveniently located right inside the venue. Expect a mixed crowd at Mighty, with younger hipster types, hip-hop club goers and an older Burning Man set mingling together at times. My experiences at this venue have primarily been Drum and Bass events and they have all been great shows with high-quality sound and fun crowds. Cover for shows typically ranges from $15-$25. Highly recommended for the versatile electronic music fan in San Francisco.
Mighty Average

My review is limited because I went here with two friends pretty early in the morning and I was hammered, but the best thing about this place was that it was open super late on Saturday night. It was pretty vacant by the time we got there, but the music was crackin' with a good after-hours vibe. The bouncer's were hella chill and we got in for free, which was a rare plus. Lots of ladies in their thirties and not too many guys at the venue. Nothing bad to say about the drinks, but nothing special. Mighty isn't my top pick in the city, but if it's after three, what the hell. I was wrong: the best thing about the place was the taco truck right outside. Bomb.com!
Great for hip-hop!

Pretty varied calendar at this place so check the schedule before heading down. I’m quickly getting too old for clubs but I still enjoy the hip-hop night on Fridays. You will want to get on the guest list (via their website) and show up before midnight to avoid the cover. One of the better hip-hop clubs in the city. I’m talking old-school stuff , like De La Soul, Fugees, and other people who actually have talent and don’t talk about how big their schlong is or how much money they have. Mighty attracts a real diverse crowd, and it’s usually a cinch to get in (as long as you show up early like I said, can’t speak to later as I am always already inside). Friendly staff and definitely not pretentious. Biggest gripe I have is the CASH ONLY part. But it is what it is.
