SantaCon: Rome Description

SantaCon: Rome - Conference / Convention | Holiday Event | Parade in Rome.

SantaCon is an annual parade in which hundreds of individuals dressed as Santa Claus gather in the streets of Rome to partake in holiday festivities. Originally started in 1994 in San Francisco, the event now takes place in more than 35 countries.

Starting on a designated Saturday afternoon in December, throngs of fully costumed Santas embark on a citywide parade lasting into the early hours of Sunday morning. The exact route is usually publicized about a week before the event and comprises some of Rome’s best landmarks, bars, and lounges.

There are a number of ‘guidelines’ for SantaCon; for example, you must call everyone “Santa” and you must dress up as something holiday related.

There are no tickets for SantaCon Rome – anyone can partake in the festivities by wearing a costume, bringing enough cash for food and drinks, and following the schedule!
