Centro, Rome –
Housed in a beautiful historic palazzo right off Via del Corso, Trinity College is a popular Irish pub where locals, expats, and international travelers mingle in front of the book-lined walls or relax in the upstairs reading room.
Visitors shouldn’t expect a crowd of bespectacled bookworms, though – the theme is just a front for what the owners call a “disco pub” where the music is loud and the drafts flow freely.
Seasoned DJs spin a variety of music from a corner of the room, while chatty patrons gather at the oak bar to indulge in whatever’s on tap, or climb the spiral staircase to view the action from above and ponder the massive antique chandelier.
In warm weather, the crowds head out to the shaded patio to enjoy their brews under the stars. Later in the night, however, the DJ turns up the volume to get the masses moving, and Trinity College transforms into a hot and sweaty disco until closing time.
International melting pot, young and outgoing, 20s to mid-30s.
Diverse styles from reggae to pop to dance.
Bar snacks, salads, Mexican dishes, steaks, pasta, burgers, and hot dogs.
Pasta €8, hamburgers €9, fajitas €8, burritos €13, steaks €12–€26. Beer €5, wine €4+, cocktails €8, fresh fruit or frozen drinks €10.
Casual.
Gets going around midnight.
