The International Rome Film Festival has taken place annually in November in Rome, Italy since its founding in 2006.
The festival premieres nine out-of-competition films along with over 50 feature, medium length, and short films devoted to new trends in cinema. The latter comprise the contenders for the Cinema XXI Awards. The Cinema XXI Awards include the Cinema XXI Award for feature length film, the Special Jury Prize for feature length film, and the Cinema XXI Award for short film and medium length film.
The Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, and Marc Aurelio d’Or Award for best film are among other awards distributed during the International Rome Film Festival. Past Best Film winners include Playing the Victim, Juno, and Opium War.
Each year the International Rome Film Festival attracts big-name actors, screenwriters, directors, and producers like Leonardo DiCaprio, Bruce Springsteen, Meryl Streep, and Martin Scorsese.
The International Rome Film Festival takes place at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, designed by famous Italian architect, Renzo Piano. Tickets to individual screenings range from €3 to €30.
