Music lovers won’t want to miss Gregory’s Jazz Club, a popular and intimate venue where the live jazz has an unmistakable Italian flair.
Arranged like a townhouse, the club consists of a narrow downstairs room featuring a handful of tables, walls lined with black-and-white photos of jazz legends, and a bar set against smoky 70s-style mirrors where friendly groups of regulars hang out before the show.
Upstairs, the audience rests comfortably on navy velvet couches facing the stage, while the low ceilings and faux bookshelf wallpaper create a cozy atmosphere where jazz aficionados will feel right at home.
Open jam sessions on Wednesdays attract a higher percentage of musicians and can be one of the most sociable nights at the club, while other nights draw a slightly more sophisticated clientele of music lovers.
For those who enjoy whiskey, Gregory’s is also heralded as Rome’s premier whiskey bar with over seventy-five different brands on the shelf.
Regardless of the patrons’ preferences, there’s no doubt that the combination of jazz and whiskey in the classiest jazz club in town can make for a wonderful evening.
Low-key jazz lovers and musicians, late 20s and up.
