Monti, Rome –
Tucked away in an ivy-covered building off one of Monti’s most beautiful sloping streets is Ai Tre Scalini, a wildly popular wine bar and restaurant that attracts a stylish clientele of young professionals all year round.
By day, the venue appears to be a quaint but unremarkable neighborhood bar full of the usual wood paneling, odd prints and photos, rustic furnishings, and chalkboard menus.
Yet by 7pm the place is already buzzing with elegant but boisterous patrons enjoying aperitivo and animated conversation with friends. As the evening wears on, the crowd grows and spills onto the picturesque street as waiters rush about with their trays.
It’s clear that mingling and chatting is the order of the day at Ai Tre Scalini, where ambient jazz and soul keep the vibe cool and the crowd carefree.
Well-dressed young professionals, mid-20s and up.
Ambient blues, jazz, rock, and funk.
Pasta, cheese and meat platters, sandwiches, and soups. Excellent selection of wines. Aperitivo buffet daily 7–9pm.

Smart casual.
