France's third biggest stadium, Parc des Princes in ritzy southwest Paris has been home base for soccer club Paris Saint-Germain since 1974.
The first stadium at the location opened in 1897, surrounded by a manicured park fit for royalty (hence the name). In the past, it hosted a physiological research center as well as the arrival of the Tour de France.
The current architectural structure was inaugurated by Georges Pompidou in 1972 and can accommodate nearly 50,000 spectators for rugby and football games.
The stadium also hosts concerts by some of today's most popular names. Past performers at Parc des Princes include Mika, Robbie Williams, Genesis, Muse, and Bruce Springsteen.
