Eight-foot-tall Greek statues and an ever-present cluster of t-shirt-clad smokers mark the entrance to Le Pantalon, a chill but quirky little bar popular with art students and hipsters.
Sporting a décor best described as industrial junk store, the space features exposed silver pipes, random bicycles, hanging plants, and battered vintage beer posters that somehow work together to create a cozy atmosphere.
Students blowing off steam crowd around the bar to down pints of Delirium and Timmermans, while chatty groups of friends hang out on cushions around a long, low table, playing cards to a soundtrack of everything from pop to jazz.
Known for its specialty shots, the bar usually contains a contingent of thirsty young professionals lining up their shots and drinking in unison before heading out for a night on the town.
As unpretentious as they come and perfect for either prepping for an evening out or holing up for the night, Le Pantalon is just the right place for kicking back after a "hard" day of not drinking.
Laid-back university students, post-grads, and the occasional hipster, early 20s+.
Playlist of pop, rock, folk, and jazz.
Happy Hour daily 5:30–7:30pm.
Beer €3+, cocktails €6, shots €2.50 or five for €10.
Casual: jeans, Converse, t-shirts, floppy hair.
Friday and Saturday nights after 9pm for the busiest scene, or any day at 5:30pm for a quieter drink and Happy Hour specials.
The vast Jardin du Luxembourg (71 Boulevard Saint-Michel) is the second largest public park in Paris, perfect for exploring and playing Frisbee before grabbing drinks at Le Pantalon.
