Party Earth Andy Wahloo Review

Andy Wahloo has taken its name (a modification of a North African phrase meaning “I have nothing”) to heart by creating a simple 70s-era space that caters to creative types and a lot of fashion industry folks.

Comfortable, cool, but not too fancy, this dark and cozy bar features a décor of African and Middle Eastern images combined with colorful pop art furnishings and bulbous low-hanging lanterns.

A central bar serves custom cocktails, including the venue’s signature take on the mojito (vodka instead of rum), while intimate seating areas are the perfect place to sample appetizers with Moroccan flavors.

Unlike many bars, the party atmosphere is usually at its peak during Happy Hour, as the hip and alternative patrons chat and mingle over drinks.

Later on, the mood mellows as guests lounge about on the cushioned banquettes and small stools for low-key conversations. In the summer, an expansive outdoor terrace draws an even larger international crowd.

Stylish, warm, and a maybe a little kitschy, Andy Wahloo – no matter what they say – is far from nothing.

This funky bar always brings in a trendy crowd in its relaxed, Moroccan atmosphere. Guests sit on oversized paint cans and enjoy each other's company over tapas, North African wines, mojitos, and mint teas surrounded by middle eastern artifacts and westernized Pop art. You can always count on this place to be lively during happy hour and the party continues with DJs from around Europe spinning the groove.
A hidden treasure

Hidden on a narrow, empty street in the centrally located third district, this bar is really one of those insider-placers. The bar is small, so don't expect a big dancing night out. But the nice atmosphere can definitely serve as an excellent place for a group of friends, or a low-key environment for a first date. Originally, the place was meant as a trespassing-place for the lovely restaurant 'Le Derriere' that's situated on the other side of the bar. However, the bar has seized to get its own fans. The decoration is based on a stylish, fancy and fashionable Morocco, complete with cushions, low tables and Eastern photographs on the wall. The Escherian floor makes a little link with the optical illusion artist. The lighting of the colored, round, hanging lamps finishes the Middle Eastern entourage perfectly. It's no surprise that the other cafes of the chain are actually located in places like Dubai and Beirut! The different DJ's and big choice of cocktails keep the small place interesting. The Andy Wahloo-cocktail is actually a good one to try. Just make sure to bring your wallet, since these little treats are definitely not for free...
