It was Christmas, I was 15, what a great surprise!

My first time going to Radio City Music Hall, I was in the car coming form Queens into Manhattan, we pulled up to this huge sign shining in bright lights! Already I felt the excitement creeping in. We went inside, up the stairs, then pow! It blew my mind, I was in the middle of one big venue! I was on the 3rd floor, I could see everything! I heard the announcement " everybody if you want to see Santa come close put your 3D glasses on! Santa came so close to my face it almost felt real, I felt like a child. Then Santa appeared on stage with The Rockettes and the dancing began! Such an amazing visual! I felt like a kid who just got the greatest present on Earth, what a night.
Best Show in Manhattan for the money

This is truly an event not to be missed. I have been to see the amazing Rockettes 4-5 times over the last 30 years. The tickets are reasonable and the show is so entertaining you don't want it to end. The venue is historic with Art Deco architecture. Before and during the show, this multi keyboard organ appears with a musician tickling those keys to make the most beautiful sound. It is a pipe organ with the most keyboards I have ever seen. For an added bonus, take the "Behind the Scenes" tour of the music hall. You can visit the practice dance rooms for the Rockettes and then you can actually walk on the stage where they perform. Every year the "Dance of the Toy Soldiers" is included in their show which is a feat you will not forget. That was a thrill for me! During this time of year, they have 3 shows a day. Be sure to visit the restrooms to go back in time to the 20's Deco Decor.

When I was younger, I would go with my family to see the Rockettes perform every winter! This historic venue was a great place to see the Christmas spectacular! I had a great time watching the show! The Rockettes were great dancers as well as performers, for everyone seemed to be having a great time! Even my brother enjoyed the show. The venue is great, the location is convenient, and the show was a lot of fun! I really hope I get the chance to come back and see the Rockettes at another Christmas Spectacular. This is one of my favorite venues to attend an event at In New York.
Went to the Christmas Spectacular

Radio City Music Hall is an amazing historic venue and New York landmark. I went with my family to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular when I was a kid and that is a memory that has stuck with me for a long time. I was so entranced by the Rockettes, not to mention the show was amazing. I learned that in order to be a Rockette, you must not only be an amazing dancer (or high-kicker, whatever) but you also must meet very strict height and weight requirements so that all the dancers look as uniform as possible. Anyway, the venue is incredible, the show was amazing, and i'd go back any chance I got!
Rock over Rockettes

I was very, very young the one time I saw the famed Rockettes put on the Radio City Christmas Hullabaloo, so perhaps my opinion is not as honed as one who has seen the show every year and is a diehard fan of the Rockettes...but I remember finding this place a little corny, a little intense and overdone. They rely heavily on this Old New York charisma, not doing enough to update their appeal. However, when I saw the Smashing Pumpkins rock this joint, it was awesome--big but intimate, intense but not overwhelming. They brough the house down, and I think the house itself had something to do with that. So I give this a solid 50/50 rating--go if you can, don't lose any sleep over it if you can't.
See a concert here STAT

Radio City Music Hall is awesome. It's a major tourist attraction around Christmas - but it's a fantastic venue to see a show at all year round. Every time I'm here I always end up running into someone I know - which is really indicative of Radio's definitely a sizeable venue but there is an intimacy to it that creates the perfect setting to watch your favorite band - or just one you're thinking of putting into rotation. If you see them at Radio City, it's hard not to fall in love with them. Generally I'm not a fan of balcony seats at a concert - but the balcony seats here are great. It's also at a great location - if you want to go to some place a bit more refined/touristy, grab dinner around Central Park and you can walk directly south to Radio City (also a very family area). However, it's also not too far away if you're coming from Penn Station, Grand Central Station, or just another location downtown.
Forget the Rockettes, Radio City is for Rock

Radio City Music Hall is perhaps New York City's most iconic music venue. Heck, it even gets a mention in Catcher in the Rye. But the real reason to check out Radio City isn't the Christmas festivities or the famous Rockettes. Rather, the stellar sound system takes the cake, and you get to be a part of living music history just by sitting inside. The elegance of the interior makes for a pretty surreal setting when catching a rock or indie band like Vampire Weekend or Beach House. But if music really isn't your thing, the Radio City Music Hall hosts a ton of other events, from contemporary acrobatics to the biggest names in pop music. Whatever you do, if you're in or around Rockefeller center there's no better way to take in the history of Radio City than with a show.
