Izod Center (East Rutherford, NJ)

Formerly the Home of the New Jersey Nets, the Izod center is now used for other sports and entertainment events. The arena is pretty standard but not comparable to the Barclay´s Center or Madison Square Garden. There are 3 levels to the arena and the arena is really good for entertainment events. The worst part of the arena is traveling to it. Located out of New York City, it is best to drive even though there are regular shuttles to and from the arena. Beware of traffic. Go to any event early.

I have been to the IZOD Center many times for wrestling events. I like it. It is not that be, but the seats have able leg room, which is important to me. First of all, when you get there, you will see multiple colors on the exterior which looks different at first, but will find quite pretty, well to me anyway. The arena has 3 levels, 100s, 200s, and 300s. There are stands and food counters dispersed throughout the arena so you will find food easy. I have been to the IZOD center many times for wrestling events which are wild sometimes. For the wrestling events there are even floor seats section, so you really get close to the action. The only downside to the IZOD Center is getting there. To be honest, I still don't really know how to get there. It is difficult to get to. You have to know the road around the Meadowlands to know exactly how to get there, otherwise you can get lost easily, because it is part of a sport complex and there are many roads that leads into it and the road for the IZOD center is separate. Other than that it is a nice arena.

As is the case with most arenas, the IZOD center is more about who or what you're seeing rather than where you're seeing it. On that note, unless you're seeing something awesome at the IZOD center I don't recommend going there, especially coming from New York City. I've been there to see the NJ Nets set the record for the most consecutive games lost at the beginning of the season, as well as a Jay-Z/Lil Wayne concert and between the two excursions nothing about the center stood out except that the drive there had been a pain in the butt. Also, the seating is done at a crazy incline to the point where looking down is akin to peering down a cliff. Fortunately, they do at least serve beer if you're going to be stuck there to watch the nets - oh wait they're in an awesome new in Brooklyn now. So in that case....don't go to the IZOD unless you really have to.
