Dec 10, 2017 —  One of the most iconic cities in the world, New York is the place to visit if you want excitement. It has something for everyone, from historic monuments and landmarks for history buffs to fantastic shopping opportunities for the fashionable and world-famous galleries for art lovers. New York will not disappoint with its stardust shimmering through every street.

Yet, no matter what you do during the day - your NYC day needs a spot of nightlife. Here are some ways to cap off your perfect Big Apple day:

Head the bright lights of Broadway, soak up the fun loving atmosphere and settle into a seat at one of the world-famous theaters to watch a world-famous Broadway show. With evening performances or matinees, there are a lot of shows to choose from. From popular hits such as Wicked, Chicago and The Lion King, to new stage adaptations such as Frozen, Aladdin and A Clockwork Orange, you’ll surely find something you enjoy.

New York has every type of food you could wish for, from fast food and late night bites, to fine dining and themed restaurants. When in Manhattan, sample some clam chowder and, for something sweet, feast on freshly baked New York Cheesecake. Enjoy the city’s most popular street cart snacks such as pretzels, hot dogs, pizza, subs and bagels. Pass through Chinatown for traditional chinese food or, if you fancy Vietnamese food, head to the popular Hanoi House in East Village for inventive dishes.

A great place for happy hour, Bowlmor Lanes is right in the heart of the tourist hotspot, Times Square. Enjoy drinks, dinner and an array of themed lanes with a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere.

New York is full of surprises with hidden gems lurking around every corner. One of the not so hidden is the Bathtub Gin. This 1920s style speakeasy is a favorable hotspot for gin connoisseurs with its creative cocktails, jazz music and cozy décor. Enjoy tasty bar snacks with dishes to share, like ribs and stuffed mushrooms.

If this is your first time in New York make sure you see all the famous sightseeing hotspots, just once before delving into the city’s interesting neighborhoods. Take in the views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island or visit Time Square to get caught up in the bustle. See the Brooklyn Bridge and climb to the top of the Rockefeller Center to take in the panoramic views of New York’s dramatic skyline. For a breather, take a stroll along The High Line, New York’s 1.45 miles long elevated park. You might want to revisit these sights and night for some spectacular light displays in the City That Never Sleeps.

If you have time, take the opportunity to see one of city’s famous sports teams in action. Watch the New York Knicks in basketball action or catch legendary baseball team the New York Yankees. Or, if live music is more your thing, catch a performance from your favorite band or artist in the legendary Madison Square Garden, the Radio City Music Hall or at the Bowery Ballroom.
