Good for Groups in the East Village Overview

Ichabod’s - Bar | Gastropub in East Village, NYC

In a neighborhood filled with college students and people in their twenties going out to enjoy the city on the budget, the East Village is the perfect place to head out with a group of your closest friends for an evening of mischief. Regardless of what the aim is for the night the East Village has plenty of options for good times in a group.

To start the night with cocktails, Cienfuegos has rum punch served in sizes for two to ten people guaranteed to get a party going. There are also plenty of spacious bars of every sort from dives like the Village Pourhouse to celebrity hangouts a la The Cabin Down below, just make sure to make a reservation or be prepared to drink in close quarters with the next table over.

Aside from bars there are also plenty of restaurants in the East Village ideal for eating and drinking with a large group of your closest friends. With Japan town being smack in the center of the East Village, places like Yakiniku West serve up traditional Japanese barbecue family style with plenty of pitchers to go around. Or to combine dinner and the party, Affaire serves up modern French fusion and turns into an underground club afterwards where DJs spin a variety of music until all hours of the morning.

But of course when it comes to the East Village, with enough alcohol and enough friends you can make your own party pretty much anywhere.
