Carolines On Broadway Information

Carolines On Broadway - Comedy Club in New York.

Carolines on Broadway first started as a small comedy club in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City in 1982. As the popularity of standup comedy surged in the United States in the 1980s, Carolines became known as one of the city’s best places to see talented comics such as Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Allen, Billy Crystal, Rosie O’Donnell, and Jay Leno. Because of high demand and the fact that every show had turned into a standing room only event, Carolines on Broadway eventually ended up at the heart of Times Square and is considered New York’s premier comedy club.

This subterranean venue can comfortably seat 300 comedy-lovers at its upholstered Vegas style banquet tables. The seemingly never-ending supply of drinks make the already hysterical stand-up routines of Mario Cantone, Lewis Black, Jon Stewart, Janeane Garofalo, and Pauly Shore even more funny. And if you really love the show and want to tell your grandchildren about it, the Carolines on Broadway specialty cocktails come in a fancy cup that doubles as a commemorative glass. Tickets for all shows at Carolines on Broadway can be purchased online.

Drink in the Comedy

Conveniently located in the heart of Times Square, Carolines is an essential place for all comedy enthusiasts to hit. It's intimate enough for a first date, but also great for kicking back with your familiar crew for a fun night of laughter. Even if your comedian doesn't end up being your style, you're sure to get a good chuckle just reading the drink menu, which is chock full of drinks named after current comedians. Take for example, the "Tracy Morgan," which consists of vodka, tequila, gin, triple sec, rum, sour and a splash of soda with the apt description: "A Couple of these and Somebody's Gettin' Pregnant." The cleverly crafted drink menu makes the required two-drink minimum much less of a chore. I've been to Caroline's twice, and my next visit can't come soon enough. I may have to broaden my comedy horizons just to have an excuse to go back.
A great time!

Carolines is so much fun to go to! I brought my friends here for my birthday when I was 16. They made it very easy for a group of girls under the age of 21 to have a great time at the Comedy Club, all they needed was my parents permission. We all had a great time here! The food was great and the crowd was amazing! i didn't feel out of place at all as a younger girl in this venue. This comedy house definitely gave us a good laugh. I can't wait to come back wtih friends and see how it is like when we are older!
Right in the heart of Times Square

An upscale comedy house that my husband and I hav frequented several times over the last 15 years. Plenty of room at your table and able to see from all tables. Of course, the comedy is usually good, but it depends who you like and who's headlining. We have seen Robert Ruhl (Arliss), Judy Gold, to name a few. Worth checking out who's playing when you visit the Big Apple.
Solid comedy

As far as comedy clubs in the city go, Carolines on Broadway is one of the top spots. Located in historic Times Square and famous for being the setting of countless comedy specials, this bar and restaurant also provides patrons with a solid drink menu, decent food, and a laid-back and swanky atmosphere. Of course, it's when the comedians take the diamond-backed stage that the evening really gets going, and by the time the night is through every table is a mass of uncontrollable giggles and tear-dampened cheeks. While this is more of a professional space than most of the city's basement-based comedy clubs--get tickets in advance--it's not snobby or terrible. A fun time had by all.
