A swanky multilevel space with an exclusive vibe, Avenue is an elegant hotspot on the club scene that attracts a clientele of fashionably-dressed socialites, celebs, and beautiful people.
Patrons admitted into the long and narrow main room with its soaring vaulted ceiling and austere oak and cork paneled walls will find an opulent turn-of-the-century décor seamlessly fused with a modern party atmosphere, as evidenced by the high-heeled models drunkenly bouncing on the Chesterfields.
High rollers, New York notables, and business types looking to indulge in bottle service settle in on the plush black leather banquettes, where drawers are already conveniently filled with glasses, limes, and mixers, while fashionistas, models, and PR girls tend to jostle for cocktails at the bar before posing and dancing the night away beneath the clever wine barrel chandeliers.
While sequined revelers go crazy on the dance floor, those who want a different perspective can clamber up the glass-railed stairs to hang out by the DJ booth in the glassed-in balcony, which becomes a tightly packed dance den later in the night, or step into the private room to lounge on tufted divans in a composed English library atmosphere.
Elite and raucous, Avenue is the perfect nightclub for anyone who wants to mingle with the beautiful people and lose themselves in an inebriated haze of glamour.
Models, celebs, people from the fashion and music industries, corporate types, and young socialites, early 20s to 50s.
Nightly DJs spin loud dance-pop music. Check the website for themed holiday parties and to make reservations.
Menu of Asian- and American-inspired small plates including miso-glazed Chilean sea bass and the Avenue lobster roll, available until 4am. The two upper level spaces can be rented out for private events.
Small plates and desserts $9–$14. Beer $12, wine $15–$21, champagne $25–$45, cocktails $18–$26, bottled water $8–$15, bottle service $410+.
Stylish chic: nice jeans, button-downs, suits, stylish dresses, heels.
Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays for a late-night, fun-loving party crowd.
1Oak (453 West 17th Street) is an equally sleek and exclusive lounge.
