Incredibly popular, and intensely dedicated to serving Paulaner beer, Wirtshaus Zur Brez’n has the look and feel of a typical Bavarian beer hall, but on a slightly smaller scale.
Located in the heart of Schwabing amid trendy cafés and bars, this beer hall’s traditional charm draws a diverse and dynamic crowd that includes everyone from business people and students to families and travelers.
Three floors of rustic tables and outdoor summer seating offer plenty of space to hang out and socialize over traditional Bavarian dishes and a liter of beer, though the cozy basement level with its medieval ambiance is the best option for patrons who plan on settling in for a spell.
The traditionally-dressed servers are friendly and attentive (and probably spend a fortune getting all that Lederhosen cleaned) and more than willing to serve customers a robust selection from the menu or just a tasty soft pretzel to complement the liters of beer.
A good time just about any day or night, Wirtshaus Zur Brez’n is at its liveliest on weekend nights when a large younger crowd flocks in for Happy Hour prices and a little beer-soaked fun.
Friendly and outgoing locals, young professionals, students, and travelers, 18 to 35.
Various types of music, usually geared toward the mood of the crowd.
Bavarian menu of sausages, potatoes, chicken, and pretzels. Happy Hour 10pm–close.
Menu €7–€20. Beer €3.25+, cocktails €6.40–€8.50.
Casual.
Any evening, though the biggest crowds show up on the weekends after 10pm.
