Isarvorstadt, Munich –
More than just one of Munich’s most exclusive restaurants and bars, Nektar is an experience that patrons in designer duds flock to on the weekends when they feel the need to indulge in artistic gourmet food and fancy cocktails – and to be seen doing it.
The first thing to grab guests’ attention when they enter are the low white beds that line the walls of an all white room, as well as the low purple lighting and simple, sleek décor that set the tone for a luxurious and elegant evening.
Everything in this space evokes the feeling of being in a post-modern underground cave, from the music and lighting to the scant décor.
Patrons can feel free to slip off their shoes and get cozy among the plush cushions as they wait for their dinner and drinks to be served to them in bed.
On some nights, various entertainers like opera singers or a tarot card reader provide a bit of diversion for the stylish crowd between courses.
With its friendly, welcoming staff and chatty patrons, Nektar is an open-minded bar that offers a social yet relaxing night out.
Mellow yet sociable, mostly 20s and 30s.
Hip-hop or R&B in the evening, house and electronic later on.
Menu includes artistically plated salads, smoked salmon, steaks, and pasta.
Menu €7–€18. Beer €3.90+, wine €5+, cocktails €8+.
Chic/smart casual.
To secure a bed, go around 10pm on a weekday or 9pm on the weekend.
