Anyone with a craving for a Guinness that those German beer halls just won’t fulfill will want to head to Kilians Irish Pub for an authentic atmosphere and an animated crowd.
This large multi-room pub has a distinctive Irish vibe that’s helped along by the décor of shamrocks, Guinness posters, rustic tables, and lots of green – not to mention a welcome absence of TVs, which puts the focus on conversation and good company.
Well-known for its nightly live music, the pub attracts a high-spirited crowd of regulars, expats, travelers, and Germans alike that settle in with a Guinness to enjoy the ever-changing and eclectic lineup of bands and performers.
While the music in the front room at Kilians Irish Pub sets the tone for an evening of loud revelry, the library in the back and the summer terrace provide relaxing options for somewhat quieter reflection over a pint or two.
Lively mix of locals, expats, and travelers, including many English speakers, mid-20s to 30s.
Live music nightly 9pm–12:30am, including everything from Irish folk and Elvis bands to jazz, blues, and classic rock. Karaoke Sunday nights.
Full German, American, and Irish menu includes burgers, steaks, nachos, and an Irish breakfast. Kilians shares its space with the adjoining Ned Kelly's Australian Bar (same owner), but is separated by a corridor.
Cheeseburger €8.20, fish and chips €10.60, sirloin steak €16.20. Beer €4.20, cocktails €7.60+, mixed drinks €6.50–€7.50, shots €2.40.
Casual.
Attracts a crowd every day, although Thursdays and the weekends are the busiest.
