Auer Dult Description

Auer Dult - Fair / Carnival | Festival | Food Festival | Shopping Event in Munich.

Held three times a year for nine days in May, July, and October, the Auer Dult in Munich is one of Europe’s oldest town festivals. Europeans and travelers flock to the Mariahilfplatz in Munich for this massive open-air market and traditional festival. The Auer Dult is organized by the Munich Tourist Office and is part of a trilogy of yearly fairs dating back to at least 1310.

The Auer Dult features a traditional marketplace with handmade Bavarian crafts, old-fashioned candies, antiques, and ancient herbal remedies. The festival also hosts the biggest table and kitchenware market in Europe. Haggle for a bargain, sample local flavors at the beer tent, or visit the fair grounds and its classic rides. About three hundred traders participate in the Auer Dult festival, while around three hundred thousand people visit each year.

Admission to the Auer Dult in Munich is free, but be sure to arrive early for the best deals and shorter lines. After checking out traditional Bavarian culture at the Auer Dult, head to the popular nightlife venues in Munich for a look at its bustling club scene.
