The Munich club scene is booming and thumping. As Germany’s third largest city, Munich does not disappoint when it comes to late-night partying, with a vast spectrum of high-end clubs that stay open late.
The legal drinking and smoking age in Munich is 18. So any club that serves alcohol or allows smoking is an 18 and over venue. That said, there is no special category for 18 and over clubs in Munich.
Complexes in the eastern part of the city, like Kultfabrik and Optimolwerke, are a mecca for European and international clubbers, where it is possible to spend days dancing in one of the dozens of clubs that cater to every taste.
More mature, well-dressed clubbers tend to favor places like Pacha in Maximilianplatz, where looking good is part of gaining access. In fact, the unwritten rule in Munich is that any club with a strict dress code that's difficult to get into probably won't have too many teenagers.
