Crocodiles, kangaroos, koalas, and surfing paraphernalia take up all the wall space, and dark décor and dim lighting creates a secluded cavern-like atmosphere for the loyal following of Australians and other English-speaking expats that frequent Ned Kelly's Australian Bar.
Patrons can say hello to the statue of Ned Kelly, the legendary Aussie outlaw, and read about his life and times while perusing the menu, which includes ostrich and kangaroo dishes that are especially good alongside a nice cold mug of beer.
Clearly designed with sports and beer in mind – a huge projection TV shows major sporting events on the weekends, including NFL football – Ned Kelly’s also draws a crowd for its roster of daily live music that features Irish bands, R&B, and rock and roll.
There’s always a lot going on at Ned Kelly's Australian Bar, but the main focus of the fun-loving clientele is live music, good drinks, and great food.
Laid back and sociable, mid-20s to 30s.
Live music seven days a week features Irish bands on weekdays and rock and roll and R&B on weekends. Karaoke Thursday nights. Occasional theme parties.
Menu of Aussie specialties includes shark steaks, burgers, and ostrich curry. Ned Kelly’s shares its space with the adjoining Kilians Irish Pub (same owner), but is separated by a corridor.
Burgers €7+, ostrich medallions €11.90, shark steaks €10.20+. Beer €3.60, wine €4.20, mixed drinks €8.40.
Casual.
Weekend nights are always fun, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons can be busy if there’s a good game on TV.
