A quirky bar with a vibe all its own, Holy Home offers an unusual alternative to the hip modern clubs of Munich, and draws a young, artsy clientele that gathers to chat about art, politics, and music in an eclectic setting.
Candles protruding from the orange walls cast an eerie glow on the red leather sofas, creating the slightly unsettling feel of a medieval altar gone awry.
The Jesus statuettes and red candles in the back room are perfect accoutrements for anyone planning on holding a séance, while an unexplained fish mobile in the window just adds an extra dash of oddity.
After a couple of cocktails, however, the peculiarities fade into the background as patrons discover that Holy Home is just a friendly neighborhood bar playing host to a happy crowd of regulars.
Hip and slightly alternative locals and regulars, mid-20s and up.
Music varies depending on the day and DJ, but often includes a mix of independent alternative music.
None.
Beer €3.20+, cocktails €8+, mixed drinks €6.50+.
Trendy casual.
Weekends around 10pm.
