Ocho y Medio Information

Ocho y Medio - Club in Madrid.

Packed, sweaty, and bustling, Ocho y Medio attracts a mixed and amiable crowd of music fans, young professionals, and casual Malasaña locals – including members of Madrid’s small but dedicated Goth contingent – looking for a rambunctious and edgier sound.

Like many of the city’s cave bars, Ocho requires a descent to the basement, but not before passing through a small anteroom furnished with couches where revelers can take a break from dancing and the pounding music.

Continuing further down, patrons enter a long, curved room filled with the lively sounds of indie and classic rock from the past forty years. The venue easily holds the record for having the most wooden benches, oddly scattered across the floor and perfect for the more timid wallflowers who prefer to sit and watch the music videos projected on a screen near the main dance floor.

Whether fresh from a bar or a botellón, the sociable residents of the young Malasaña neighborhood invade the club on Friday nights (technically Saturday mornings) for strong drinks, pumping music, and the frenzy of the dance floor.
