Ryad Café is one of the best places to smoke shisha in Madrid. It is hidden in some windy backstreets and from the entrance it doesn’t look like there’s much going on inside, but you would be surprised! You go down a windy set of stairs and end up in a dark underground smoke filled cave with lanterns and candles everywhere. The lanterns and ceiling hanging chandeliers are imported from the Middle East adding to its authenticity. The seating is very cosy and intimate. There are pillows and carpets where you can sit and there are also small wooden tables with little stools, if you don’t like to sit on the floor. In short, the lighting and the seating also make it a perfect date spot. Whoever comes to Ryad café, comes for smoking shisha, drinking exotic teas, and eating Arabic pastries. The cost of one hookah is 8 euros and they have a menu of many different flavours such as mango, pineapple, grape, melon, orange, mint, and more. They also serve beer and wine, but do not have cocktails or any other type of food. The crowd is young and laid back and it is also a mix of local Spaniards and Arabic expats. The vibe is exotic, chill, and down to earth. There is free wifi and Arabic music playing in the background. It is a great place to go to at any point of the night.
