Madrid is packed with cafes as there is one everywhere you turn. However, if you are looking for a posh, but inexpensive cup of Joe and a beautifully decorated tart, then Mamá Framboise is one café you must pay your respects too. It is cute and quaint and offers a pleasurable experience with a French twist.

Mama Framboise, is one of the only spots in Madrid that is a French bistro and bakery. They serve French pastries such as croissants, macarons, cheesecakes, mille feuille, truffle cakes, cupcakes, crème brulee, etc. and a great selection of teas and coffees. It’s really hard to get exceptionally great macarons in Madrid, but this is definitely the place to go for just that. They also serve a variety of soups, quiches, and sandwiches… and who can forget the typical Croque Monsieur (pretty much a French hot dog)! Personally though, the pastries are the reason why you should step into Mama Framboise. I highly recommend the strawberry and vanilla macaron. The dessert here is really the essence of the experience. The décor is very French bourgeoisie: the wallpaper all over is baroque style pink and beige and the chairs are antique wood with cushions. The tables are old white wooden tables and there are either flowers or candles on each table. The crowd is all ages, but very posh and trendy. You can just tell that this is a place to see and be seen and you definitely wouldn’t show up there in a simple jeans and tshirt. Your outfit would need a little more pazzaz. I’ve seen older people in fur jackets and nice jewellery as well as the young, in and trendy crowd. In short, it is casual trendy. They also have free wifi and ambient music. I have seen this place middle of the day and at night, and it is always super busy!
