Perhaps the more refined version of its neighbor to the east, West Hollywood and its famous Sunset Strip are home to a variety of nightlife options, including renowned music clubs that have helped launch the careers of many a famous rock band.
Among the many other venues are the country’s most recognizable comedy clubs like the Laugh Factory (West Hollywood) and The Comedy Store, kitschy theme bars that cater to out-of-towners, and swanky hotel bars.
West Hollywood is also home to a handful of the city’s most exclusive clubs, where only a well-dressed clientele of jet-setters, celebrities, and the in-crowd have a chance of slipping past the velvet ropes.
Some of the city’s elite restaurants, al fresco cafés, art galleries, and designer shops can be found at Sunset Plaza and Melrose Place, while Santa Monica Boulevard is the heart of LA’s gay community, the nerve center of the city’s liberal bent, and the home to countless trendy clubs, bars, lounges, live music venues, and restaurants that cater to both gay and straight partiers alike.
Mostly free of the seediness of other Los Angeles neighborhoods, West Hollywood is an excellent place for young partygoers to live, eat, and play.
