Los Angeles Clippers Info

Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers are a National Basketball Association (NBA) team that plays games at the Staples Center in Downtown, Los Angeles. The stadium was built in 1999 and has a seating capacity of 19,060. The Clippers share the stadium with their Pacific Division rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers. Clippers games are historically hit or miss affairs since moving from San Diego to Los Angeles in 1984. The team has the dubious reputation for being one of the worst franchises in professional sports history, however there have still been many a great player and bright spots in their past. Some of the greats to pass through Clippertown have been Bob McAdoo, Terry Cummings, Elton Brand, Dominique Wilkins, and future hall of famers Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. Clippers tickets can be easy to come by when the team is losing (often), however, when the team fields a winning squad, the city rallies behind the underdogs and sells out nearly every game.

The Los Angeles Clippers in my opinion are making a mistake in the current trade talks with the Boston Celtics. The Celtics are offering the Clippers a hall of fame coach in Doc Rivers and a hall of fame player in Kevin Garnett for Deandre Jordan and two first round picks. Chris Paul has stated he wants Doc and you would have to believe getting KG would definitely help him stay with the team instead of sign with Atlanta with possibly D Howard. The clippers are getting stingy with their money but if they are serious about contending again they should take the deal which can turn them into maybe top 3 contender in the west with KG's prolific defense and rebounding and a great mind like Rivers who was also a PG to take Chris Paul to he next level of his game.

If when the name "Los Angeles Clippers" comes into your mind you are still thinking about the doldrums struggling at the bottom of NBA, you are wrong. The whole new Clippers team will give you a wonderful experience here at Staples Center. With Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, you will see the most wonderful plays of basketball in Los Angeles. The atmosphere inside of the Staples Center has never been better before. The clippers spirit dance team is energetic, just like the players. Don't miss the chance to enjoy the "Showtime" of the 21st century.

By a hard win to Utah Jazz today, Clippers broke the record kept by Jazz that it hasn't lost any game this season at home court Energy Solutions. The coming one to Dallas Mavericks is not easy, too, but the Clippers will fight for and defend its honor. The season just started, but we saw the Clippers' ups and downs, and they are going all out to prove itself. When people talk about basketball team in Los Angeles, Lakers is no more the priority answer because Clippers can no longer be ignored. When you think about Clippers you think of Paul, Griffin, Billups, and you think of the best bench in NBA. There is a long way to go for this season, and i have the faith! Go Clippers! We are the lob city!

It's official, the Clippers are worth seeing now. Despite losing four in a row recently, they're certainly in competition with the Lakers for LA's new team. We'll most likely see the Clippers in the playoffs this year and it'll be interesting to see how far they can take it. With teams still performing well like the Lakers, the Thunder, and the Spurs, the west is stacked with talent yet again. My only gripe with the Clippers is to get a new head coach. Vinny Del Negro is a decent coach but I don't see him as a championship coach. I went to the Clippers game against the Hornets where they lost 105-98. The Clippers didn't really come out to play that day except for Caron Butler and CP3. Paul was sitting on the bench for most of the 3rd quarter and if I was Vinny, I would've put him in much sooner to get some action going. Also I would've run some plays for Butler to create and shoot. He had a career high nine 3-pointers, so run some plays for the guy! Losing handily at home to teams like the Hornets isn't a good thing, so I hope they turn that around as the year progresses. It's fun watching an electric team like the Clippers, so get out there Clipper Nation and make your voice heard!

The L.A. Clippers have finally become relevant in the NBA, not to mention Los Angeles. With the additions of Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, and others, this franchise is now one of the most exciting in the league. The question now is, are they ready to take the next step and contend for a championship? They have alot of talent, but will they be mentally tough enough come playoff time to tangle with the big boys like: OKC, San Antonio, and also the Lakers. Also, after this season has concluded, will they retain Chris Paul long-term? This franchise has a history of letting big time talent leave (or ushering it out of town) due to the unwillingness to commit by paying the big bucks. Only time will tell.

The question this year is who will be the Big Brother in LA. Obviously it has traditionally been the lakers, but the Clippers are at a level now that they may never have ever been at before. Their team may lack some size in the front court, however they are so deep at the guard position it will be interesting to see if they operate under the fast-paced game plan that the NBA seems to be shifting towards. Also, if Chris Paul and Blake play up to their full potential, the Clippers will be a formidable force in the West this season.

Everybody knows that the Lakers have made some huge off-season noise by signing Steve Nash, Dwight Howard, and Antwan Jamison, but don't sleep on the Clippers this year. They have improved each year with Chris Paul at the realms running the team and Blake Griffin's overall game is starting to improve more and more. With the off-season moves of signing Grant Hill, Jamal Crawford, Lamar Odom, and Matt Barnes among others, the battle for L.A. isn't just going to be handed to the Lakers without a fight. This is going to be a great race to see who will be the kings of Staples Center this upcoming season.

What can the Clippers really accomplish this year? Will they throw their coach under the bus? I don't think that Blake Griffin and Chris Paul are a good enough combo to make a meaningful dent in the playoffs. Lob City had a nice run last year but the Lake Show is back in town and ready to dominate. The Clippers desperately need to add another piece because Griffin is simply not that good. He's an incredible athlete but his basketball skills need to improve. Some of the supporting cast is actually not bad but I still think they need a real star. And Blake's knee won't hold up this season.
