It's like Texas uprooted itself & decided to crash Kim Kardashians city. I live 10mns from Sagebrush & come here for a rowdy, square-dancing good time. May sound like I'm exaggerating, but every time I've been here I've seen old white couples getting ratched and doing the doesy-doe. Drink prices are reasonable & it's in Old Town, which is a super cute part of Calabasas. Local, fun, but honestly? The crowd is ugly. Oops?

Calabasas is known for a few things, one being the home of the Kardashian’s, but additionally (and more importantly) it is the location of the historic Sagebrush Cantina. The Sagebrush is a large restaurant/bar, with an American Country meets Mexican flair. The ultimate spot to spend a warm Spring or Summer day with friends. The Cantina is also the local hotspot on Sundays for bikers all across Los Angeles and even as far as San Diego. The scene: The Cantina is mainly outdoor dining. There’s a patio that provides shade and an unshaded area as well. The main bar is located in the center of the two patios, and a second bar is in the back toward the covered patio. Friday-Sunday there is always a live band playing some awesome 80’s-current day music. After hitting the dance floor, hydrate yourself with a cold brew and watch tv on one of their 6 flat screens in the center bar area. The crowd: You’ll get an eccentric group of individuals when you visit Sagebrush. From bikers and their ladies, to families, and rowdy 20-somethings downing pitchers of beer. Service is good and consistent, they’re attentive and timely with your orders. Come on a Sunday and the place will be packed from morning till night, as it offers bottomless mimosas and is the go-to hang out for bikers. The Sagebrush is notorious for being a cougar hang out, all the hot, single moms of Calabasas are bound to be hanging around on the weekends, but that doesn’t stop the 21 year olds from pounding pitchers at the bar with them. What to wear: The valley gets really hot in the summer, so dress accordingly. Summer dresses, cowboy boots, daisy dukes and tank tops. During the day the attire is very casual, you can even come in your beach wear. Dinner is slightly less casual, but jeans are just fine. Food/Drinks: Load up on beer and margaritas here and let the good times roll. While the food is moderatley priced, the drinks are cheap (for Calabasas). For an appetizer, check out the Tijuana egg rolls, a real crowd favorite. You won’t ever get enough of the dipping sauce, it is mouth watering good. The portions here are huge and an appetizer will be sufficient as a meal unless you’re splitting it. For an entree, try the Sagebrush quesadilla (a southwest chipotle flour tortilla filled with chiuauaua cheese and chicken or steak), or the baja fish tacos. Prices: Pricing is moderate. Appetizers range from $7.95-$12.95, salads are $5.95-$14.95 and entrees are $9.95-14.95. Insider Tip: Line dancing lessons are taught on some Fridays for free. Grab your cowboy boots and daisy dukes you’ll feel as though you’ve been teleported down South. Try to find street parking because the only parking available is valet.
