Must try the Ramen

My Take: Great ramen! I’ve been searching all over Los Angeles for a new Ramen spot since I moved from the Orange County area. I am pretty judgmental of Ramen, and I decided that Robata Jinya is now on my list of top 10 Ramen places in the Los Angeles area, even though it is not strictly a Ramen joint. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Robata Jinya, service was good and the atmosphere was just perfect for my group of friends to catch up. The Scene: Great date spot! Robata Jinya’s vibe is trendy and intimate. The lights are dimly lit, background music isn’t too loud and the wait was only 10 minutes without a reservation (granted this was on a random Thursday night). The only complaint I have is that the restaurant is small so tables were close to each other, it was too easy for others and ourselves to eavesdrop on conversations nearby. Cocktails & Cuisine: Food is yummy, I would recommend trying the Ramen! (I tried the Tonkotsu Original). My friend vouches for the curry and rice as well. Prices: Prices were moderate enough for my recent college graduate friends and I to afford. No complaints there! What to Wear: Robata Jinya is located in the Beverly Grove area, which is more on the grungy side so if you show up in a flannel, I doubt anyone would judge. However, if you throw on nice shoes and a cute top, you’d fit right in! This place definitely has an after work vibe, so sometimes people might still be in work clothes. Insider Info/When to go: This place would be great for an intimate dinner date or casual dinner and drinks with friends.
