If you are looking for a new sushi restaurant because you are tired of going to the same old places, check this place out. This place has a nice casual chill environment that you would appreciate to have during dinner. It has great service and even better food. I love getting the sashimi here because I love how they cut their fish so thick. In terms of price, it is very affordable. Go here with friends and enjoy a nice evening of authentic food and great conversations. This place is very coomodating towards larger parties as well. In other words, you must go!

My Take: Haru Sushi Café is a neighborhood gem located in mid-city on San Vicente Boulevard. It will for sure be your new favorite sushi spot as the food here is unbelievably fresh and the ambience is inviting. The décor is very simple, yet comfortable and classy. The restaurant is not too large, providing for impeccable and incredibly friendly service. You will find the owner (a very cute little Japanese lady) running about the restaurant making sure everyone is satisfied. Haru is a great place to go if you don’t want the hassle of long reservation waits and running into everyone you know in LA. The Scene: This restaurant tends to draw a younger hipper scene. There are a lot of couples on dates and groups of friends meeting up here. You will even see a few families dining here as well. Cocktails & Cuisine: Haru offers a great variety of yummy sushi rolls and have great dinner combo boxes. I got the chicken teriyaki with brown rice dinner combo box that came with sashimi, sides, organic salad, and miso soup all for just $16 dollars. They also have a well composed and fairly generous Chirashi ($15) and Sashimi combo ($16). Prices: The prices here are very affordable and eating here will definitely not put a huge dent in your wallet. What to Wear: The vibe here is pretty laidback and casual, however that being said, Haru is located near Hollywood so people tend to dress trendier here. There’s no need to go all out, but nice jeans and top will do the trick! Insider Info/When to Go: It can become quite crowded on Friday and Saturday nights so it’s recommended to call in earlier and make a reservation. However, even if you do not have a reservation, the longest you will have to wait will be around fifteen minutes- not too bad at all! There is also plenty of street parking near the café, which means there won’t be the typical hassle of parking that comes with eating in places near Hollywood.
