Party Earth Review An updated take on a traditional Irish pub, Molly Malone’s is an upbeat venue featuring a strong live music scene and a motley crew of outgoing regulars. Anyone in need of some traditional Irish pubs in Los Angeles will not have to roam very far. The Gaelic goodness made its way to this side of the pond long ago, and certainly shows no signs of disappearing anytime soon.
Irish pubs in LA can be found all over, from Hollywood’s Dillon’s Irish Pub – where the waitresses are all dressed in sexy schoolgirl uniforms – to the upbeat Molly Malone’s in Beverly Grove to the cavernous Casey's Irish Pub Downtown, LA boasts Irish pubs from the hills to the sea.
From the shamrock sign outside to the wooden benches, Guinness taps, and beer mirrors inside, Tom Bergin’s Tavern is every bit the Irish pub – something visitors won’t soon forget once they’ve seen the thousands of shamrocks bearing the names of regulars who have made the bar home since 1936.
Sure, the city might be best known for glitz and glamour, but even the most obtuse Hollywood producer needs an unpretentious pint now and again, while the rest of us can rejoice that most Los Angeles Irish pubs stay mellow save for that St. Patrick’s Day thing that pops up once a year.
The Guinness is strong in Los Angeles, Luke, which means both a properly poured pint and the chance to make blatantly stereotypical sayings about an entire country are a cinch in this town.
