Dragonfly - Club | Live Music Venue | Theater in Los Angeles.

Located in the hub of Los Angeles nightlife, Dragonfly is a Hollywood club that offers a diverse array of entertainment with an emphasis on dancing and live music. It’s open Wednesday through Saturday every week, with occasional Sunday events.

Décor at Dragonfly is dark, eclectic, and minimalist. The concrete bar and red lighting give the club an almost dive-y feel, with leather banquettes and candlelit coffee tables keeping it classy at the same time.

Events at the Dragonfly vary widely, from the standard DJ sets, to Reggae night, to live music performances, to the acclaimed “Point Break Live!” theatrical reenactment of the 1991 movie Point Break, in which a new audience member plays Keanu Reeves’ character each time.

Since opening its doors, Dragonfly has hosted a slew of famous bands for live performances, including The Foo Fighters, Alanis Morissette, Run DMC, and No Doubt.

Fun and Strange...oh, and weird.

The Dragonfly on Santa Monica Blvd. is home to many of the most fun, strange, and weird events in Hollywood. But all of them being super cool and different (in a good way). Lots of burlesque shows mixed with female wrestlers dressed as comic book characters fighting mixed with indie bands. I've been here a few times, most of the time catching the POINT BREAK LIVE show (which is a riot), but the thing I like about this place most is that it's really intimate but it's also super easy to get in and out of, and the bar never has a long line. And, if I remember correctly, the drinks are fairly cheapo, which is hard to come by in this city.

The Drgaonfly hosts an amazing variety of events in an incredibly versatile space. There are multiple stages, multiple bars, front and back patios, and tons of beams for decorations and lighting. They can turn that venue into pretty much any fantasy land you can imagine. It's a great place to party for holidays like Halloween, New Year's, or Valentine's Day; there's bound to be some kind of crazy event going on with performances ranging from burlesque to solid rock 'n roll. The crowds who frequent the Dragonfly are some of the most open and extroverted I've ever come across. It's like stepping into a bizarre family reunion every time you step foot inside. GET THERE.
