The Lunacy Music and Arts Festival is one of the biggest fall countercultural arts festivals in the world. Held at the Live Oak Campground in Santa Barbara over Halloween weekend, the Lunacy Festival features live music, performance art, giant installations, and spiritual workshops.
Check out the colorful video projections on the Peace Wall or get sucked into the golden ratios of the universe inside the 12:21 Turquoise Portal. The Lunacy Music and Arts Festival also offers live painting, hoop dancing, aerial art, and fire spinning by artists like Faeryn Fire, Paige Wyatt, Felix the Cat, and Grimm. Musical performances range from psychedelic bliss rock to EDM (electronic dance music) with artists like Givers and Takers, EOTO, and Boombox Orchestra.
The art gallery features work by cerebral icons like John Benko, Ursula Young, and David Pricco while teachers offer lessons in qigong, yoga, and sound healing sessions. Along with the art and performances, the Lunacy Music and Arts Festival presents workshops with titles like “Exploring Absinthe”, “Sacred Geometry Playshop”, and “Nature’s Dreams: Co-creating Sacred Space with Gaia.”
Tickets to the Lunacy Music and Arts Festival range from around $75 for a 1-day pass to $155 for the full 3-day pass. Be sure to book your ticket online and come early, as the camping spaces are quickly filled with crowds of hippies, burners, and spiritual seekers eager to launch another legendary Lunacy Festival.
