Hapa Japan - Cultural Festival | Literary & Book Event | Screening | Concert | Comedy Show in Los Angeles.

“Hapa” is a Hawaiian word used to describe people of mixed, usually East Asian, heritage. To celebrate Hapas with Japanese roots, people from all over LA come to the annual Hapa Japan. Held for five days in April, Hapa Japan takes place at a variety of institutions including the Japanese American National Museum, East West Players, and USC.

With a concert, comedy night, and literary panel, there’s something for everyone at Hapa Japan. The Japanese American National Museum features an exhibit highlighting aspects of the Hapa experience, while USC hosts a two-day academic conference.

Registration for events at Hapa Japan is required but free.
