All Sports LA Film Festival Description

All Sports LA Film Festival - Film Festival | Sports in Los Angeles.

While mostly known as the entertainment hub of the world, Los Angeles is also a bustling sports town. Just take a look at the rubble following the aftermath of any Lakers or Dodgers game. From the Summer X Games to horseraces to one of the most famous soccer teams in the country, Los Angeles is a city dedicated to the game. Since 2009, the All Sports LA Film Festival has joined the city’s twin passions for sports and film, featuring three full days of screenings and Q & A sessions over the course of a November weekend.

The All Sports LA Film Festival is hosted by the El Portal Theater in North Hollywood and invites the public to discover shorts, documentaries, and feature films where the love of the game is central. Whether it’s a film revolving around a legendary surfer or the Super Bowl, the All Sports festival is about the pursuit of victory and the competitive spirit. Films are judged by a panel of Hollywood professionals and the winning films are often given help with local and national distribution. Award-winning films at All Sports LA include Liz Oakley’s Awaken the Dragon for Documentary Film and Stephen Ihli’s JumpRopeSprint for Feature Film.

With screenings and premieres of some of the best sports films in the world it’s no surprise that Movie Maker Magazine named the All Sports LA Film Festival, “One of the Coolest Film Festivals of 2011!” The growing reputation of the festival attracts leading talent and past Q & A sessions have brought out executive producers like Theresa Mulligan of How I Met Your Mother and John Dove of CSI: NY.

Tickets to the All Sports LA Film Festival cost around $100 for the 3-day pass. Individual screenings and events at All Sports LA range from about $10 to $25 depending on the event. After the screenings, celebrate at the sponsored Awards Ceremony and Gala on Saturday night.
