The Ice House (Pasadena, CA)

The Ice House is a legendary comedy club located in Pasadena, California that offers live stand-up comedy five nights a week.

Opened in 1960, The Ice House was originally conceived as a folk music venue and passed nearly ten years hosting a variety of folk music acts from all over the country, including Kenny Rogers and Linda Ronstadt.

In the 1970s, the club’s focus switched to comedy and subsequently built a rich history. The club has hosted some of the biggest names in comedy over the decades, including Robin Williams, Jerry Seinfeld, Steve Martin, and Ellen Degeneres. Over seventy-five live comedy albums have been recorded at The Ice House by performers like The Smothers Brothers, George Lopez, and Gallagher.

The Ice House offers an intimate performance venue in which no seat is more than seven rows away from the stage. The venue also features a full bar, a next-door restaurant, and a patio. Shows at The Ice House are performed Wednesday through Sunday nights, while big-name acts often do double features on weekends.
