Party Earth Bootsy Bellows Review

The Scene

Bootsy Bellows in West Hollywood, Los Angeles is an exclusive club with burlesque, puppets, & vintage flare. Spot a Rat Pack of celebs in LA with Party Earth.

In mid 2012, actor-turned-nightlife-impresario David Arquette took over Trousdale Lounge – a luxurious celebrity hotspot with the paparazzi perpetually planted out front – and turned it into Bootsy Bellows, a swanky vintage-style club with sexy burlesque dancers, erotic puppetry acts…and the paparazzi perpetually planted out front.

The venue is named for the stage persona of Arquette’s mother – a tassel-shaking queen herself back in the day – and much of the interior is awash in ol’ Bootsy gracing the blown-up covers of retro mags, bondage galleries, and other assorted photos that would make the average son cringe through his toes.

Child psychology notwithstanding, the main room is quite intimate and cozy, with cascading glass ornaments hung over the sleek marble floor, tufted suede couches, and a tiny stage where everyone from life-size puppets to marionette troupes to women behaving badly perform.

A-listers, reality TV stars, and industry insiders are in large supply, ordering multiple rounds of sparkler-adorned bottles as gorgeous girls dance atop the tables.

For those lucky enough to find entry into the main room too easy, there’s a VIP room in back that promises even more exclusivity, as well as a swanky vibe provided by pink couches, diamond-shaped mirrors, and a grand piano that’s like a symbolic cherry atop an old-school Vegas sundae.

A fantastical realm where the ageless vices of old attract an equally ageless crowd, Bootsy Bellows is where Hollywood’s modern-day Rat Pack goes to get naughty.

Tip from Adriana:

Once you get back to the VIP room, be sure to check out the two-way mirror. You’ll probably see shadow boxers performing behind it.

Puppets, cats, and free candy

Bootsy Bellows is one of the most exclusive spots in LA and you definitely need to be with a good promoter or know someone at the door to get in. The interior is like stepping into an underground club out of the Great Gatsby. The puppets are prime photo-ops and super photogenic, since this is LA after all. Girls walk around passing out free candy and if you're into cats there are girls dressed as cats My favorite part was the occasional blast of cold air/smoke that they did every now and then, much appreciated to cool off. The DJs are fantastic and if you're lucky you'll even see the puppeteers get really into it and have puppet dance-off battles, since obviously a club isn't legit unless it has those.
A must when in Hollywood!

Bootsy Bellows is a place you have to visit when in downtown LA, it's the perfect place to go with a group of friends to live the Hollywood party lifestyle and you might even catch a glimpse at a few famous faces while you're there! Although it is a little on the pricey side, this luxurious club always gets packed and attracts an A-list crowd which will leave you feeling satisfied the money has been well spent. The music includes appearances from world famous guest DJs as well as live burlesque performances and other shows. There is a private VIP area and there is bottle service which starts at $425 and can go upto $18,000. This is a guaranteed great night out for people who are looking for a glamour, exclusivity and fun.
good music

I prefer Bootsy Bellows over other clubs like Lure and Supperclub for the variety of music. Unlike other clubs, Bootsy Bellows has a VIP room that is completely separate from the rest of the venue. The VIP room has its own bar and DJ and the music is a lot less fast -paced / dubstep/ techno music that most other clubs play. They play a lot of really good old and new hip-hop music that is good to vibe to without jumping up and down and looking like an idiot on exstacy. I would reccomend this to all hiphop music lovers
Girls NIght Out

Bootsy Bellows is an extremely fun place to go and is a guaranteed hit for a night out with the girls. It is always packed and the high-end vibe and high prices draws in a great crowd, so make sure you dress to impress. We had a good time because our friend had an in and got us a table, I don’t know what it would be like had we not. The club is very unique and its a great experience and due to its size, being not as big as some clubs, it is easy to meet people! The music was good for us but can be hit and miss, however, this doesn’t take away from its great qualities, and I would recommend it for any group of girls looking to paint the town red.
Classy and Unique

This swanky downtown spot is sure to be a good time. Though the prices are less than ideal if you're on a tight budget, the exotic, high-end atmosphere helps you forget the fact that you're breaking your bank for a few hours. The unique qualities of Bootsy Bellows helped with the distraction - the girls who work bottle service were also carrying around baskets of candy to pass out to the club-goers when I went. Be sure to pull out your best heels and most charismatic smiles because it tends to be VIP-friendly. If you have a friend who has an in, go with them, it makes the whole experience much easier and more enjoyable. If you're looking for a stylish club with good music and a fun atmosphere, this is the place for you!
OMG are those puppets?

Came here last Friday night after my friends had no ideas on where to go. Bootsy Bellows has been on my list of clubs to check out so I directed the cab driver on Sunset to across the street from Soho House. It was about 11:30 when we arrived and the place was jammed. Its definitely a smaller sized club which can be a nice respite from some of the Hollywood megaclubs. The scene is also a little more classy and less trashy so definitely dress appropriately. The music was chill, some DJ called DJ Bizzy who played mostly hip hop. Still ended up dancing all night despite the lack of Gotye, Rihanna, and Avicii. Oh and there were also two child sized dancing puppets. Yes, that's right, I turned around while dancing and noticed two furry puppets in front of the DJ booth. Strange, but in some way it works. Definitely be back soon!
