Party Earth Pour Vous Review

The Scene

Pour Vous in Hollywood, Los Angeles is an intimate & upscale lounge that transports guests to Paris. Fly to the City of Light in LA with Party Earth.

Located across the street from Paramount Studios, Pour Vous is an intimate getaway for upscale professionals and trendy socialites looking for some flavor of Paris in Hollywood.

Entering through the nondescript façade is like stepping onto the movie set for Moulin Rouge, right down to the vintage display case full of apothecary bric-a-brac that lines the narrow front hallway.

Once past the thick blue velvet curtains, thirsty guests head straight for the bar to sample one of two dozen specialty cocktails, while romantic couples make their way to the lower lounge where a fireplace crackles below a stained-glass rotunda.

An upper level just behind the resident (and usually model-esque) DJ offers small groups a chance to chill around marble tables, each dressed with a single rose.

Despite being quite small, an outdoor patio in back may be the pièce de résistance, where trendy Hollywoodies grab a smoke in a full-on converted train trolley as they gab over small plates of chocolate and French cheese.

Though the venue is far from a club, the DJ’s dance-friendly mixes often engender pockets of grooving, and on the off-chance the cocktails and champagne don’t entice, a converted antique espresso machine behind the bar serves as the beer tap.

For a night of sophistication and style, Pour Vous is a très bon spot to impress a date or just take pleasure in the finer things in (night)life.

Nice Place with amazing cocktail list I suggest the 'La Vie en Rose"Cocktail or try the Duvel Belgian beer while looking at an aerial show on Top of Jazz Music. Show start at ten.No cover charge. A nice place where to go and relax. And to discover on thursday and Friday. As saturday is always packed. Men must wear shirt or tshirt with a blazer.
A little taste of bourgeois in LA

I've got to agree with the below review. Sure, there is an air of pretentious and hipster, but it almost adds to it's chicness. I mean, that's pretty much what you'd expect from a classy joint in the middle of Paris too. This place is definitely all about ambience. From the lounge area by the fireplace, to the burlesque dancers on the ceiling, to the trolley in the back for the smoking aficionados (which after a late night conversation with the owner, I found out was actually shipped from Hawaii and has to be driven to/from the lounge every night). It's a classy vibe, with drinks to match. Expensive, but unique, and created and served in way that makes you question why you ever considered order a beer on tap. There's a dj but no real dancefloor, and the place is surprisingly conducive to having a conversation with a friendly stranger. All in all, a very chic place to go either with a group of friends, or just with a wingman (wingwomen) to look for your next date.
oh so LA

Get ready. Dress the part. That means wear your LA costume. Hipster, posh, ripped jeans with Gucci heels. yes. you got it. I love this spot for that reason. pretentious cocktails served by slightly rude mixologists..... yes you are in LA.... I guess you could be in Paris or NYC also... but I adore those places too...

I went to this cocktail lounge a couple of weeks ago and had a blast! Be prepared to walk up to a nondescript door that takes you into an energetic and lively French-style bar. If you plan on going here, you have to be dressed up in cocktail attire. For guys, a suit jacket is a must. Girls can get by in flirty dresses or skirts. The candle-lit bar was filled with groups of friends sipping on whisky-based punch at small tables and singles dancing by the DJ. The outdoor area is super unique and features a vintage train where patrons can sit down and socialize. In terms of size, Pour Vous is fairly small and can get a bit crowded, but that's what makes it fun! Overall this spot has a high-class vibe and is worth a visit. It’s also the place to go in L.A. to meet friendly Europeans!

Dig the dress code. Dug the smoking section inside of an old school train compartment (even though don't smoke). One of the better Manhattan's I ever tasted as well. Get there too early and your playing pocket pool for a few hours. Get there in the early morning and you've got about 90 minutes of great atmosphere and a hot crowd.

Being a very big fan of the owner's other two spots - La Descarga and Harvard & Stone - my expectations were admittedly very high for Pour Vous. Situated across from Paramount Studios in the old Forty Deuce spot, Pour Vous is a French-inspired watering hole complete with fireplace and an outside trolley for smoking. Things to note: the staff is incredibly friendly. Waitress, bartenders, managers, all treated us well. There's a dress code. No tennis shoes, shorts, etc. The crowd is a little more sophisticated than your average Hollywood club scene. Mid to late 20s and early 30s, but all dressed up. My group got table service which consisted of a gigantic punch bowl filled with vodka and god knows what else. The whole group got wrecked, but the bowl made for an easy way to invite people to come over and share. The DJ played an excellent mix of pop and 80s and the night was really fun overall. One other note. There on a Friday - the place was dead quiet until after midnight. I can't vouch for this being the case all the time - but the staff did say they usually get busier later. Make it your last stop of the night - not your first.
